- Wedding: June 2012
I am a 56 woman who will be marrying for the second time to my first love I met when I was thirteen and let him get away. We are having a destination wedding with just the two of us in Jamaica.
As I am reading through the boards and in my own planning, I see that many bride to be’s are worried about doing things the “right” way and feeling apprehensive about doing things the way WE might really want to do things. For instance- bright colored nails, dress matching venue, etc. What my fiancee reminds me and I believe this because I am an older bride that it really is important to DO YOUR WEDDING YOUR WAY!!! obviously there are some etiquette rules that should not be ignored but if you want fuchsia nails then you should have fuchsia nails. It is all of OUR weddings and in trying to please all the other parties involved, we often end up not being true to ourselves. So with what is think is the wisdom of age I am posting this to say…….it’s your wedding and it should be about you and your future husband. When you look back on your day, you will feel a sense of joy that you did it your way.
