I guess I’m alone here, but I think the eyeliner is way too heavy. Otherwise you look great, and I think with practice you will be fine on your own.

honeybadgered :  I can’t have someone else do my mascara. My eyes just won’t stay open, haha. So I think if I try to do false lashes, I’ll have to apply them myself. Maybe I should buy some now and start trying it out.

honeybadgered :  That makes sense! I went with a professional MUA and thought she’d overdone my blush, too, but in photos it looked very subtle. I would adjust that and also go for a softer or more shimmery eye color on your lids. You could go to MAC, Sephora, or a similar store to get some ideas and inspiration.

You’re good at makeup and that’s awesome for every day wear, but I’d wante something more profesional for my wedding. As good as you look, your eye shadown could use some blending, you need more / better coverage concealer, your eyebrows need to be groomed (not tweezed so much but brushed and trimmed), and you’d look great with a bit of a glow added to define your face and keep you looking fresh and youthful.

Sorry if that’s critical, I just a) love makeup and b) want you to look you best for your big day.

honeybadgered :  Good plan! Sephora has a lot of online tutorial videos and they have free in store classes. If there is one near you that wuold be a great resource!

You have beautiful features and can definitely do it, however I would suggest a few tweeks:

* Falsies. Or at least a primer and a few coats of mascara. Your lashes are not too noticeable here and they should be since you have very pretty eyes.

* Some contouring and a rosey color for the cheeks. Definitely add a bit more color to the face to add dimension.

* You should do a brown that has a slight green or gold undertone to it on the eyeshadow to pop out the color on yours. I also suggest that you do a lighter color on the inner corners and then go darker on the edges to accent the almont shape of your eyes. Something like these:

I would suggest you consider Gilded Envy, Amber Rush and Iced Latte from the Loreal Infallible line if you want a little shimmer. They’re in these swatches:

I also think a slightly lighter lipstick would make your face a little brighter. Unless you are having an evening wedding and want a darker lip look.

YouTube has great tutorials that would definitely help you perfect your technique. Good luck!

I think it looks great! I did my own makeup and I normally don’t wear any makeup at all! (You can look at my threads to see it if you want). I would HIGHLY suggest Makeup Forever HD Foundation, I wore it and it’s AWESOME, not too thick, and great for photos. Also, primer under eyeshadow and foundation, and lastly some kind of setting powder. At Sephora they just gave me a sample of setting powder/primer and it was enough for 2-3 uses so I didn’t even have to buy that stuff. I made sure to go a LITTLE heavier on eye makeup than I normally would so it shows up in pictures. Also, I’m a huge fan of a neutral pink/berry toned lipstick for weddings, but that’s just me. Good luck!

I like your eye makeup a lot! And the lipstick shade is beautiful! I would add false lashes and some contouring! Overall, good job 🙂

I think you did a pretty good job overall. The only things I would add are possibly some false eyelashes, some highlighter and blush on the cheeks, some concealer under the eyes.

I agree that it looks a bit flat.  Also, are you wearing lip liner in the picture?  Your top lip, especially around the cupid’s bow, looks very sharp and severe.  Smudge the eye liner as well

honeybadgered :  you’re welcome! I’m planning on doing my own makeup too, but I am a bit of a makeup geek and spend quite a bit trying products and trying to perfect my technique, so I feel more comfortable doing it. Let me know if you want any more product suggestions since I go through a ton of them! Lol
