I need help bee
so depress.. my wedding dress that i asked for ivory color turn out to be beige. To make matter worst is that my reception wedding is next week! my dress got delayed for days when it suppose to be shipped out already and when i found out the seller made mistake. its too late to fix it because it require her to make completely new dress. I dont want to mention her name yet, until i receive the dress. only then, i think its fair to share my honest review and experience purchasing from her.
To make new dress from local bridal shop is completely out of question because my budget for the wedding dress is done. Furthermore i dont have time anymore to remake and none of the shop is willing to do so. The seller even made the lace applique in different color(which is the right color, ivory) without even consulting me. It emphasizing the chest and i hate it…so many details that need revision but i cant even think where to begin with…she refused to even change the lace color eventho its obviously her mistake. she said ‘i think its beautiful’ and its ironic because who is the client here and who is the person who ultimately have to wear the dress on her wedding day??! i read from another bee that had problem with her too previously that she tend to make decision without consulting the client.
below is the sample in her listing..more neat work etc.. while the outcome is not the same..sloppy works
now.. im trying to figure out.
is it possible for me to dye beige dress to ivory or white. including the veils??

I think you would have to bleach it, which would be very tricky. I would just demand my money back and go to dillards are some place like that and get a cheap nice white dress. Sorry that you had such a bad experience! 🙁 Hugs!

I really don’t recommend you even try. The dress could be professionally dyed a darker color, but you can’t dye things lighter unless you first use a color remover to strip all the original color. Even then the various fabrics on your dress will absorb color at different rates.
Although the color is not what you expected, if your budget is tapped out and you can;t afford to replace it with a siimple dress from a brick and mortar store, I suggest you wear the dress with some gold accessories and act like this was the color you wanted all along.
The lace at the shoulders can be tacked down with a couple of hand stitches and the seams which are pulling just need a good pressing.

I don’t think you can dye it. You could try to bleach it, but I dont think that will give you the look you want. Have you considered looking at a local department store for another dress?

See if you can buy a sample from a local store or a dept store. There’s no way you can do what you want to do successfully. Sorry.

the seller have a policies that is not refundable for custom dress. how awful is that? she can take your money and deliver sloppy works, plus something u dont even want. in the end still have ur money anyway. i could dispute with paypal but let see how it goes once the dress arrive. i have to treat the situation very carefully since my BMs also place order from her and each one need revision. their dress is fixable eventho the quality is so so. i just want the dresses to arrive and my BMs get nice dress that they paid for because eventho i feel SO SO frustrated my dress turn out so badly. i will feel worst if it happen to my BMs too because i introduced the seller to them.

Watch your dates with Paypal. You only have a certain time period to launch a dispute.<br />Even though she has a policy of no refunds for custom orders, you can still dispute with Paypal on the basis that the color is not even close to what you requested.

This is so frustrating im sorry! I’m not sure if it can be dyed, the seller should definitly refund your money!
The dress is still very beautiful even though it’s a different color, i would still wear it! 🙂

Have you considered ordering a cute, summery white dress from an online store like Modcloth and then having it rush-shipped to you? I know you said that going to a bridal salon and getting a new dress was out of the question because of budget, but you could probably find a cute emergency dress for under $150.

tomorrow i will try to look around at the local bridal store if there is any available..im keeping my finger cross because this issue really cause all my other wedding preparation to be put on hold.
here is the sample color she gave me which is much much more lighter color compare to the end result. she blame the lighting on the sample color photo..

You can’t get it lighter, because it will just get blotchy with the bleach. It is a fairly pretty shape, so I’d suggest dying it navy or black and wearing it on other occasions.

But the quote says “peach and ivory” doesn’t it? That seems like what u got. You’re right that the sample colour looks more white than the end result.

Oh boy that dress is hideous 🙁 I’d find something else.
