i’ve been playing around with our invitation design today, and i’d love some input on what i came up with! it’ll be letterpressed, hence why it’s all black and white. also, our last names and wedding date are pixelated for privacy reasons.
(for anyone wondering, the fonts are Gotham and Lobster 1.3)

I think it looks nice!! It’s clean and simple! Is that what you were going for?

I love the layout. Clean and classic, with a modern twist. The A + A is SO cute! Great work.

@Mrs. Doily: it is! we’re HOPEFULLY having a destination beach wedding, but i didn’t want a beachy themed invitation. instead, i went typography based and got this (:
@angelalsmith3: thanks! i like the a+a part too (:

I like the font and the layout. They look really nice!

I like that it is not overly busy, but has some interesting details!

Personally it’d look better in my opinion with just a slight pop of color. I can understand sticking though to your colors. It looks fine though without the color.

@colorofmyheart: I say ditch the comma on the top line. I love me some letterpress, and I really like the minimalist aesthetic you’re going for. The fonts are really nice and cohesive
Personally, these are changes I would make:
– A more punchy, romantic quote/phrase under the A+A, that one isn’t evocative enough for my taste
– The wording of the “invite you to…” and “a ceremony on the beach” are somewhat cumbersome. I like the wording here, and it’s not overly formal or stuffy, but conveys a real “wedding-y” message
*** And in a crazy uninvited twist, I can’t help but notice that the shape of your wording on the right nearly makes a heart as it is. With only minor tweaking (keeping the fonts, because they rock, but losing the A+A= <3) you could make it a heart shape on a square card, which would be the most delightful thing EVER! (a la this)

Love the design and the fonts! Looks like something you could buy 🙂
That said, I would take the quote below A + A out altogether. You either turn your head or the invitation to read and it just doesn’t flow right to me.

I second everything drlolaz said!

Very nice. Elegant & modern but still kinda fun.

Super cute! Personally, I don’t like quotes on wedding invites so I’d take out the quote under your initials. Also, can you add some color?!? Maybe put the A+A=<3 in color? Even if you don’t make any changes, it’s still a great design!

Is this flat print, thermography, or letterpress? With the minimalist design, it would really pop with letterpress on some nice thick cardstock!

thanks everyone for the input!
a few individual responses:
@snd485: @greymonkey42: when i design, i do everything in black & white, then decide on colors. hence why it’s black and white right now. there WILL be a pop of color in there, i promise.
@drlolaz: @Skittles131: i personally love the quote there. but thank you for the input. as for wording, i may change it. i agree that it’s very wordy, i just have to work with it. and i didn’t notice that it’s making a heart, but the a+a=<3 is my favorite part. thanks for pointing out the heart shape though!
@MrsEdamame: most likely gonna be letterpressed. i agree, i think it would look AMAZING done on super thick cotton paper (: if i don’t go the letterpress route, i’ll change the design. i’m still pricing out supplies for DIY letterpress.
