I have a 3 stone princess cut moissanite engagement ring. When my husband first bought it for me, the centre stone was 6mm. My ring size is a size 4, so, while I thought it looked a little on the big side, I grew to love the ring and didn’t feel that it was too flashy.
The problem started when my sister gave him the wrong ring size and so we had to have it resized (by another jeweler because the ring was purchased in TO, but I was living somewhere else at the time, so we brought it to a local jeweler). After the ring went from a 6 to a 4, the ring was no longer round, it was a little oval. It didn’t bother me at all because you could only tell when the riing was off my finger. Then, when I got my wedding band, my husband contacted the original company who made my ring, and they agreed to redo the ring in the correct size to make it round again to fit the band, using the original gold and stones.
My well intentioned husband wanted to surprise me and got the centre stone upgraded to a 6.5mm. And I feel bad for saying it but I really don’t like the bigger size. It looks a little costumey and I just feel uncomfortable wearing it. The thing is, I have a very quiet and shy personality and I just feel like this new ring doesn’t me at all.
Is there any way that I can get the larger stone replaced with a smaller one without having to redo the whole ring again? This is getting expensive! And we went with moissanite because we are saving for a house!
