Hi Ladies! 🙂
I got my dress in the mail today, & it’s really beautiful! Here it is on a MUCH tinier model than me! lol
My dress is a size 8 Theia Couture Strapless Silk Organza.
I have a bit of a problem though; it is WAYY too long (as in, I was wearing 5in heels with it, and I was still stepping all over it) & it’s the tiniest bit too big in the waist. I will want to have cups added as well. I only have a 7 day return period, and so I’m taking it to a bridal seamstress tomorrow to make sure it can be done perfectly and within my price range.
My question to the hive is: can I have it hemmed now and wait to have the waist taken it closer to my wedding day since I would like to lose some weight? I’m a little less than 4 months away from the big day, and I’d like to lose about 15lbs in the next month or two. I would be fine with waiting to have it all altered as well, but I’m not sure if it is normal to take your dress to the tailor and tell them you don’t want to work on it for a few months. I would have waited to take it to the tailor altogether, but I really need to be sure that my wishes can be accomodated before I miss my return frame if it isn’t going to work out.
Thanks, you guys! 🙂
