I have been thinking about going with a fuller petticoat for my dress than the one I have. My dress is a David’s Bridal CT2406 and the petticoat is the 2 tiered a-line:
I really think it can handle a fuller slip and I prefer that look, HOWEVER, the dress right now, with this slip, is almost the perfect length with my shoes. No alterations needed (though it is a TEENSY bit long I guess)… I am worried that if i go with a fuller slip it will shorten it too much?
What do you bees think?
Also I didn’t buy the dress or slip at DB, I bought them on ebay, so are they going to let me come with my dress to try on other slips or should I just go to some general formal wear store or a bridal salon not affiliated? I would probably buy my new petticoat on ebay but I would like to try it before buying.
Oh and I just MUST point out that I used to sell on ebay and one of the things I picked up often for resale were petticoats and crinolines… the poufier the better, especially if they were vintage! So yeah, annoyingly, a year ago I had THREE here, various fullness (one VERY full like I’m thinking of buying, of course), and I donated them all to goodwill! I only have one of those left and it’s tea length and I’m selling it with a dress I bought on etsy then changed my mind about. Figures huh??
