I’m absolutely in love with this dress (see picture) But the top is too frilly and doesn’t fit me well. I feel like it’s too high and too busy with the flower. I’d love to turn this into a sweetheart neckline to have it more fitted and show a bit more bust, plus I think it’s a more flattering shape.
I’m worried about whether this can be done with the type of material. Any ideas? Love the dress but can’t stand the bust as it is!

Hmmm, it may be difficult because of the frilly material, but I don’t see why a seamstress couldn’t cut it all into a sweetheart neckline. The dress is gorgeous!

I definitely think a seamstress should be able to turn that into a sweetheart neckline. Have you bought the dress yet? If so, take it in and ask them. If not, at least take pictures and information on the material and they should be able to tell you if it is possible or not.

I think they can definitely do it, but it might be expensive. It looks like the edges of the frilly material are finished, so they’d likely have to hand finish all of the cut edges.

I love your dress!! The seamstress should be able to take some of the frill out of it for you and make a sweatheart.

They may even be able to do it with the main material behind the ruffles. I tried on a dress like that, and you could still see the silhouette behind the sheer material. Its amazing how much a small detail like that can change the dress completely! Good luck – it looks amazing on you!

If that is a Pronovias gown, I know they have a style that is almost identical but without all the frill at the top and it has a sweetheart neckline. It’s called Fresa. I was looking into the Pronovias gowns as they are absolutely gorgeous. (And I am selling a knock-off of this dress as well that I had made because I couldn’t afford the original.)
Anywho, here’s the dress I’m talking about. Good luck!
