@Happy7:  My Darling Husband likes princess cuts much better than rounds (I had a round first too). But, yes, princess cuts look smaller than rounds. Princess cuts are deeper..

I have a princess cut 2 ct center in a split shank halo setting approx another 4cts of surrounding diamonds. I have enhancer bands wrapped around( my ering fits in the middle) to make a flush fit. I love princess cuts!

As to how big they ‘face up’ I think it honestly really depends on the depth of the cut of both diamonds. My mother and I *both* have exactly .51 ct center stones, but my princess cut actually faces up just a bit larger than her round brilliant because her diamond is a slightly deeper cut than mine.
