@Mrs.LemonDrop:  it’s actually rose gold.  most think it’s yellow gold…until they see it next to yellow gold…then it has it’s pink hue to it.  my fiance had it custom made by a jeweler and the jeweler loved working on it b/c it was so different from what he normally got to do.  i got the idea from the jewelers megan thorne and cathy watterman.  if you want to check them out…they were out of our budget that’s why we went the custom route.  and by we i mean my awesome man.

@ellabee: I LOVE your ring! I actually meant to mention that in my post! You wrote that ‘The “prongs” are fleur de lis’, is that meaning the color or the shape? Is it a version of rose gold? I was planning on eventually having an anniversary band made in that color. 😉 one day.. lol

@Mrs.tobe: Lovity love it.  Very lovely.  That is what halos were originally- before they were made on CNC/ Cad machines.  Love it.

Rather than the typical north/south sertting for a marquise diamond he had it set east/west.  I love it, so unique!!

my e-ring was custom-made by Redstart Design in san francisco.  the diamond is bezel set because i am a scientist and wear gloves on which prongs can catch.  the engraving motif on the sides are inspired by an antique jewelry set i inherited from my late grandmother.

Zillionth time posting mine, sorry to anyone who’s sick of them 🙂 Green tourmalines in platinum. I sketched out the design for the e-ring and DH had it custom made, and the same jeweller designed my wedding band to complement it.
