Definitely sounds like you have your heart set on it. I refused to spend a lot on my veil, I didn’t think a piece of tulle warranted much. But I did splurge on other things that other brides may have thought weren’t too important. This might be your thing.

I think leaving it till January sounds like a good plan. By then, the excitement of it might fade and you might change your mind, or you’ll still be thinking about it constantly, which would mean it’s very important to you.

Wow that’s beautiful but if you won’t miss it and regret not having it on the wedding day then it’s not worth it anyway. That is a lot of money, my veil was $20 and it’s very pretty. Maybe you could look around for a while and see what you see for a smaller amount?

I think that you can get one hand made or send this picture to China and get a replica for more than half off.

If you can afford it, get it!

It is perhaps the most beautiful veil i’ve ever seen!

If you were financially able and secure I’d be all for it, since it’s shaky and URBER expensive I’m going to have to listen to little miss practical and say no way.

@SpecialSundae: Beautiful veil Where did you find it pleasseee. I would wait till january to decide.

It’s so hard when you have your heart set on something so beautiful. I know how you feel. Yes It’s a lot of money so make it worth while if you do get it. Like you said it’s somthing you could pass down the family.

If things becomes difficult you could sell it (which is easier said than done I know). Or even if you don’t keep your wedding dress the veil is somthing you can keep and treasure as a memorey of your wedding and is easier to store than a wedding dress. Lots of options. I think It’s so sweet your fi still wants you to have it.

I wouldn’t say it’s slightly different for all brides in the UK. Most of my friends including me would wear our wedding dresses the whole night. But I know other brides that change outfits for the reception as it is easier.

Anyway wish you all the best for the future and hope that everything gets sorted. Sounds like you have a lovely fi. ๐Ÿ™‚ xx

I believe people should live within their means and if you even have to think twice about spending $900.00 on a veil, then you should keep looking!

(It IS gorgeous…I can see why you’d lust after it!)

@SpecialSundae: Sweety… I LOVE that veil ! I believe you said you tried it on ? How did you feel when you did ? I do think that waiting till January is a great idea, by then you might have been able to save or just have the money for it. If not, well… I’m sorry ๐Ÿ˜› hehe

I LOVE IT!  Would you be willing to sell it after the fact to recoup some of the $$?  It’s really really amazing, so I’m inclined to say go for it if you have the money… if you can wait till January, try to save/earn money in other ways if it helps.  Sell old jewelry/books/clothing/etc so that it’s not such a hit out of your daily income.

I would not pay that much for a veil.  But only you know your finances well enough to say if its reasonable.  If its in the budget and you love it so much that you think you’d regret not having it, go for it.  If you dont think it’ll be a big deal in the long run, which I dont think it would be, then be sensible about it.  (I voted no)
