@Mrs Grape: I seriously wouldn’t spend more than $50-100 on a veil, so $800-900 seems insane to me.
Same here. Its tulle (w beading). There is no way would I pay a months rent/mortgage on piece of tulle, no matter how beautiful it is .And it is gorgeous. Even if my SO was working, I couldn’t do it.

Not worth it, especially since money is tight right now.

Wow, that veil is stunning! (Where on earth did you find it?!?!?!)
i’d hold out until January so you know your situation a little better…. but then, if you can afford it, go for it! You definitely have your heart set on it, and it would make a marvelous ‘one piece of frippery’!
Also, if you could bear to part with it, you could sell it after the wedding and recoup some cash. (Or save it as a very remarkable family heirloom!)

I think that’s way too much for a viel, though it is lovely.

It is stunning for sure, but no way I would pay that much for a veil!

I’m torn, because I know what it’s like when you so desperately want something, but then again, that is ABSURD for a veil. I can’t even justify paying $100. Is there nowhere else that has anything similar?

Noway! That’s practically a whole other gown!

@SpecialSundae: OK! Then that makes it more difficult to decide…..GAH!

That’s sooo much for a veil, I’d look around and see if you can get something similar for less. maybe contract an etsy seller?

That does seem like a lot to spend on a veil, that is more than i spent on all my wedding attiire, personally i think the veil iv beautiful, but you could get something just ad beautiful but a little more simple for a lot less.

girl, that veil is PAINFULLY beautiful. have it made somewhere else!!! that’s what i would do!!!!

I just recently decided I even wanted a veil to begin with, so I think that’s outrageous!! But that’s just me. *shrug*
You and your Fiance know your finances better than anyone, so it’s really up to you. But what if something happens and you have to decide to spend that $900 on a veil or a cake?

I think the veil is gorgeous but $800.00 is definitely too steep for me.
I could find so many other things to spend $800.00 on. It would pay for a couple more appetizers during the cocktail hour or brunch the day after for the out of town guests or extra orchids and roses in my reception centerpieces.
Only you and your fiancé know your finances so only you can justify it. I spent $40.00 on my veil – I’m only wearing it during the 30 minute ceremony and couldn’t see spending more than that.

@WineAndCupcakes: I’m making the cake, so I’m only spending about $100 on it!

It sounds like you have your heart set on it and you would regret it if you didn’t get it. It also sounds like you have put a fair amount of thought into it and it isn’t a spur of the moment decision. In addition to this it also seems that you have saved in quite a few other areas of your wedding. If you love it, won’t be 100% happy with something else and you can pay for it without going into debt I say get it.
