@Eva Peron: I generally enjoy reading your posts. This particular comment, however, was a little uncalled for.

Hi there, beautiful rings and stones everyone! 🙂

I have a 4.75 ring finger size and 3/4 (.75) carat center stone. I think a larger stone would be gorgeous, too. Just thought I’d throw a smaller one out there just for fun…

@agirlwithdreams7:  have you tried any 2 ct stones on?  Pictures can only do so much.  I seriously recommend you do in case you havn’t.  I was hoping to be around the 2ct mark myself until I saw how it looked on my finger.  It wasn’t so much the size of the stone itself as the bulk, with the setting and high prongs, etc. If you have tried them on, just disregard everything I just said.

Happy shopping!

edit: i wear a 4.5

I truly did not mean that to be hurtful or offensive in any way!

Let me preface it this way, I have a size 5 finger and I have seen a 2 carart “solitaire” on my finger- it seemed to good to be true, like wow, is this real?! I just thought it looked off. Its my way of saying I think it looks “big” but not trying to specifically say for your finger since I haven’t seen it on yours!

Please accept my apologies ladies!

@agirlwithdreams7: I think 2ct is a great size, not too big and not too small! Check these posts out from Pricescope.

The fingers are a bit smaller than you asked but it should give you a pretty good idea:  http://www.pricescope.com/forum/show-me-the-ring/any-ladies-with-small-fingers-2-2-5ct-stones-t164441.html

There may also be some in here: http://www.pricescope.com/forum/show-me-the-ring/let-s-show-off-our-2-3-carat-center-stones-here-t31514.html

Keep in mind stones look WAY bigger in photos than they do in real life. I have a size 4 finger, and currently have four 8mm stones (which would be 2 carats if they were moissanite/diamonds) in front of me and they don’t look big at all. Now colored stones are a bit different, you can go bigger before it starts to be like, “…Really?” but still.

A 1 carat is 6.5 mm. 2 carats is 8 mm. That’s a difference of only 1.5 mm. Millimeters are really, really tiny! : )

sorry for the giant photo – my center stone is just over 1.5 and the total carat weight with the halo and shank stones is just about 2 – I’m a size 4. hope that helps!

I never understood why people insist on posting their rings when they don’t fit the criteria of the post. I just don’t get it. She asks for 2 carat solitaires if you’re isn’t, why post it?

@blingbling: Probably because they are trying to help her out? I mean, I’m not the OP but I’ve now got a good idea of what a 2ct stone looks like on 4-5 finger.

@blingbling: You’re right. I probably shouldn’t have posted mine. I know, I felt uneasy about it afterwards, but hey it’s said and done. I tried on 1-2 carats on my finger when we went ring shopping and loved it, but we eventually went with a .75 carat. I went in the store thinking I would like a certain style and ended up going with something way different. But hey, that’s just me…

Just trying to give options because some end up changing their minds. There’s just so many options out there! 🙂
