I would love ideas on this, too. My venue has 9-12 ft rectangle tables and I’m not very excited about it. I can’t help thinking they will be more costly to make look full/nice. So far, I do have a few ideas:

– table runners on all tables in green

– half the tables lined down the center with a lantern (in the middle) and candles of various sizes on either side. I already bought the lanterns and metal candle holders with spiral decorative legs (I guess is best to describe them). Now, I need votives (and probably many) to place around and between- I want it to look kind of casual, not so straight-laced.

– for the other half of the tables, I know I want florals of some kind but I don’t really know what/how much to do. Two arrangements on each end with something in between? One large arrangement in the center with something else on either side? This is where I’m stuck.

Will be glad to hear other ideas

I’m really stuck on this too.  Hopefully others have some ideas!:)  We’re getting married in an old barn so no candles or else that would be my first choice. The lanterns sound awesome though!    I was thinking table runners to add some colour but so far I haven’t been able to find them for rent (haven’t looked too hard yet though).  We’re going for a more casual rustic look.  Any ideas please? 🙂 🙂

@papercrafter:  Your old barn will have lots of appeal on its own so that’s a great start! Just some FYI:

– I haven’t priced table runners for rent but I was thinking of buying mine from efavormart.com (9 ft satin runners are $2.18). I can’t imagine that’s a bad price, even for buying instead of renting.

– Also, I noticed Dollar Tree has 3-pack LED tealight candles for $1- much cheaper than I’ve seen at AC Moore but, I don’t know how long they’d last. I think I’ll use those inside my lanterns just so I don’t have to worry about them getting too warm.

– The lanterns I’ve gotten came from superwholesaler.com. Seemed like pretty good prices for them, although if there were an IKEA near me I would have checked there first.

Hopefully we’ll both get some new ideas soon!

Thank you for the link! I hadn’t started looking at purchasing them yet but that sounds like a great price.

Our head table was a long table. The rest of the tables were round.

I went with a burlap runner (which I made from fabric and really should have been longer than what it was-but oh well), solar lanterns and flowers. 🙂
