Mother of the groom doesn’t have a dress yet, but here’s a photo of my mom’s dress, except my mom’s is Navy colored.

This was my mother-in-law’s dress. Loved it!

Here’s what my mom and my Mother-In-Law wore- my mom’s was long, but really stretchy and comfortable, like the dress version of sweatpants.

My Future Mother-In-Law is apparently wearing this teal sequin-y sweater top with a black flare skirt. I am not a fan, but I let her pick out whatever she liked and was comfortable in.
She orginally wanted to get a pale pink dress made to her size and specifications in Chinese silk, and at some point considered using an old white dress of hers, so this is an improvement. Honestly she procrastinated on it so much I just stopped caring (she still hasn’t bought the skirt, the wedding is in a month)
She doesn’t mean any harm, I just think that she’s not thinking that the don’t-wear-white applies to other colors (or it only applies to younger women?)

My mom is wearing something from Rent the Runway – maybe something to consider? The only caveat was that my mom is like at the top of the size ranges they carry, and I think my mom is rather small(ish).
If you live in the NYC area they have a showroom where you can make and appointment to go try on some dresses!

But I think a slate grey or maybe a (not navy) blue color would look lovely with the other gal’s dresses.

My mom has been looking mostly at Macys and Nordstrom for a dress for my brother’s wedding. Adrianna Pappel (sp?) and Pisarro Nights have some pretty dresses IMO. Most of the specific wedding apparel stores didn’t have much for variety (usually long with a jacket thing).

My Future Mother-In-Law doesn’t have her dress yet as far as I know but this is what my mother is wearing.

My only concern with Future Mother-In-Law is she tends to buy clothes just a bit too small, but she wore a lovely dress for FSIL’s wedding so I’m not too worried.
