I told my girls to buy whatever black, floor-length dress they wanted. Everyone got something different and I think it all looked great together. I hid their faces because I didn’t ask if I could post this…But you can see how everyone is different.

I’ve posted my pictures a bunch of times before – search the website and you’ll find tons of examples!  Here are me and my sisters.

I told my ladies to buy a knee-length purple dress, and instructed my bridesman to buy a grey suit. (My husband’s groomsmen were also in grey suits, and his groomswoman was wearing a silver dress.)

Here are the dresses I let my 4 girls pick from… they chose the first, second, and two chose the last.

@crh1729:Their bouquets were all different. I emailed my florist a picture of each dress, and he did an awesome job matching the bouquet to each woman’s dress. FWIW, I’m not a big flower person, and my only instructions to my florist were “blue and purple, in season.”

I am glad to see this thread!! PLEASE POST MORE! I am looking for inspiration, too!

This is just my opinion for my wedding, and I respect that others choose differently, but I am TOTALLY not in to the uniform BM dresses! Not only do I think it looks silly to have the same dress on different body types and different personalities, it is an insult to my BMs to ask them to spend so much money on a uniform dress that they wear for a few hours and won’t be able to wear again and probably can’t sell. Also, I ran the NON-uniform dress idea past a few photographers and they’ve all said that the uniform dresses are boring and only good for the staged line-up of the wedding party and that the NON-uniform dresses make for more artistic photos that bring out the real people and their personalities!

So I am picking some colors and working with each bridesmaid to find an affordable, re-wearable dress that suits her body and style and personality within my color/fabric range. Here is my inspriration so far:
