You ladies are all so prepared!!! I’m 26w and we haven’t done anything yet!! Granted we actually just moved, and are in a rental while we build our new house, so we won’t be going overboard with decor.

My parents got us the stroller for Christmas, and another friend just got us the Pack N Play since she’ll be out of town for my shower she sent it early. Literally other than a few outfits, we haven’t bought anything yet!!

OP, I’m so sorry for your loss and understand your hesistation!  My baby slept in a bassinet in our room for like 8 weeks anyway, so there’s really no rush for you to have the nursery done before baby safely arrives if you want to wait.  It’s understandable!  I was scared too, so I didn’t have things done until shortly before his birth (like a week!)  I completely relate to what you wrote — I’m a widow, so I have struggled with similar thoughts.  People don’t know what a blessing it is to be blissfully unaware of terrible things that can happen.

Apparently I forgot to get a decent photo of his nursery — oops!  But here is what I have:

springgle :  I got it from the designer Caitlin Wilson – https://caitlinwilson.com/ it’s more than i wanted to spend on wallpaper (i misunderstood the dimensions and ended up having to buy 2 rolls -.-) but it’s really good quality and i think it makes a nice focal point!

We didn’t paint our nursery because it was already a neutral color painted les than a yr ago and I didn’t want to inhale the paint fumes while pregnant. We ordered our furniture when I was nine months and it got delivered when she was a month old. We kept her in our room in a bassinet until she was 7 months old. I don’t think u know til u have a baby what u need for example a rocking chair for me would’ve been useless since I pumped for a month and we used a roc n play to rock her to sleep instead of a chair. So we basically had a changing table and bassinet and that’s all we needed for her first month other then a rock n play to put her in for naps and while we were eating

I also felt  a little superstitious to have everything ready before she was born and healthy and I enjoyed shopping online for decor while I was home recovering during the first month post partum and decorated a little at a time

FYI for all those decorating before baby arrives…do not hang anything heavy above the changing table or crib..my daughter is 8 months and grabs at every thing. I went to a friends house and used her changing table and she  had glass picture frames hanging above the changing table which my daughter was grabbing off the wall the whole time
