I personally didn’t like David’s Bridal. I had to get my Bridesmaid or Best Man dress there, and just found them generally unpleasant to work with. They didn’t take us seriously, there was a huge difference between sizes 2 and 4 (more than normal) maybe because they wanted us to have to get alterations? I just generally didn’t think my dress was worth what I paid for it, it felt like it was bad quality and yet I paid $115 at a discount, plus sash. I could easily find a cute cocktail dress on sale for $115 that would have been much more flattering and well made!

So I just don’t do DB anymore, unless I’m a Bridesmaid or Best Man for someone else who wants to go there. Since you already ordered the dresses, I’d just go through with it, and make sure you stick up for yourself… I think I remember another poster saying at one point they had to speak to a higher-up about returning something, so if it doesn’t fit and you want to return it, I’d try that. Good luck!

I’m so sorry you had such a bad experience there. I was nervous getting our bridesmaid dresses at Davids Bridal because I had heard negative things too, but so far, they’ve been great.

I’d definitely recommend getting your alterations done elsewhere. Do a google search for seamstresses in your area, and read reviews to find an affordable/quality one!

Oh boy, you don’t want me to get started on DB.  I’ve had a HORRIBLE experience with them re: my bridal gown.

They are hard core on their no return policy but they will do exchanges.  I think you should be able to exchange the dresses for smaller sizes and exchange the sashes for larger ones.  I’d go in and ask to speak with the manager from the start though – don’t even waste your time on one of their regular sales people.  I have found they do not have good sales people at all.  🙁  I have learned the hard way via DB it’s true that you get what you pay for.  Ugh

Good luck!!

P.S. My 5 yr old Flower Girl, who is very petite but typically wears a size 5, had to go down to a size 4.  Sounds like all of their Flower Girl dresses run big.

Agree with farmersdaughter – definitely get the alterations done elsewhere. As for the sashes, bring in the ones that are too small, ask to speak with the manager, and see if she’ll let you exchange the unused sashes for Bridesmaid or Best Man sashes. I don’t have personal experience exchanging stuff at DB, but it seems like other ladies around the hive have actually been able to get DB to exchange stuff. Good luck!
