I found this dress at discount-dress.com. I am in LOVE with it. But I don’t know what the pros and cons come with buying a dress online. If I order, should I order a large size and then have it fitted somewhere close to me? Would that even be possible wih this particular dress? Has anyone purchased a dress here and what was the outcome? Help please!

I wouldn’t but that is me, I am super cautious about sending money to china and having little to no way to recoup if something goes wrong.

Also perhaps knowing the name of the designer I can look around in local places. Does anyone know who the designer is?

The original dress is Essense of Australia D1036. If you check some preowned sites you may be able to find something from the same designer for a great price, depending if you like the fit of it or the one shoulder specifically there are some samples for sale right now

Maggie Sottero also has a few similar, I tried this one on and it was quite flattering http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?line=d&page=1&style=JD1319

@tksjewelry: Yes! This is it, no prices on the dresses though I am going to have to place a call and ask. Probably over my budget.

Some people have great luck with ordering from China and some people really get the hose on it. It’s a gamble I’m not willing to take, personally. It’s a matter of how much you’re willing to pay for a sense of security! I would wait for recycledbride or oncewed or preowned dress to come up with one! Or maybe a sample sale at a store that has one? Or try to see if the “Church street bridal’ place ever gets essence of australia, search for it on the forums! It’s a super popular thread =)
