I wanted more than ANYTHING to wear Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche on my wedding day. But, oh, that $150 price tag. Maybe someday I will be able to afford such a luxury!

So, I got a free sample of it at the perfume counter at a department store. One of those little .5 ounce samples that comes in the little folded card.

Perfect.

I guarantee if you go up to the Estee Lauder counter and ask for a sample of Beautiful to take home – tell them you want to wear it around to see if you might like it for your wedding – you’ll get one.

It’s a great fragrance. I used to wear it in college (before it got more expensive).

I recommend Daisy by Marc Jacobs. A little pricy depending on your budget, but so worth it!

@ProfessorGirl:  This. Go to a Nordstrom’s or something and ask for samples.

Also, http://theperfumedcourt.com/ has almost any perfume you could want available for purchase in a range of sample vial sizes. So if you smell something you love at a perfume counter but they won’t give you a sample, you can order it there.

ETA: keep your sample bottles even after they’re empty! Once you’ve invested in another full size bottle of a scent you love, you can rinse and refill them if you want to keep one in your clutch, take some with you when you travel without worrying about the bottle breaking or having to check your bag, give a sample to a friend, etc.

My advice: go to Sephora and find a few you like and then ask an employee to make you a sample of a few of them. The sample will be a tiny spray bottle that you can use for the wedding and put in your clutch! If you like it, you can buy a bottle later. You can also read all about the scent profiles on touch screens in store, so you can direct yourself to scents with jasmine, etc.

Clinique Happy has a very clean, fresh scent. It’s one of my favorites.

Beautiful has a roll on you can use instead of the bottle!

@ProfessorGirl:  Chanel Chance is my “weekend” perfume. I love it! πŸ™‚

OP I wear Givenchy Very Irresistible and I love it. It is fresh, clean and not too perfumy/musky or heavy. You can get samples at Sephora that will definitely fit into a little clutch.

I love Jo Malone’s Nectarine Blossom and Honey. The full size is very pricey, but you can get a 1 oz spray bottle at Nordstroms for $55.

If you win the lotto in the next couple of days, I’d recommend my favorite perfume in the whole world, Scent of Peace by Bond No. 9.  But gaaaaawd it’s expensive (you can buy little tiny spray bottles of it, but even those are pricey.)  πŸ˜‰

Totally agree with PPs.  I second the Nordstroms idea, and also want to add I personally have better experience getting those little spray samples (free) at that higher-end department stores like Bloomingdales.  If you fall in love with something and want to buy the large bottle, as PP mentioned, Sephora sells small perfume spritzers.  They are like, the size of mascara.  They come with a little funnel so you can pour your favorite perfume in there and travel.  Good luck!

Yes, go to the department store and get some samples of ones you like.  You can try them out and see which one you like best/matches your body chemistry.  Then if it’s expensive one and don’t want to spend the money on a bottle, go back and get another sample.
