Hello, ladies, and happy winter wedding planning to all of you.
I need your opinions today! I am going to try on my wedding dress again in a couple of weeks (already purchased in November) and I need your opinion on if you think I can pull off wearing a sash with my dress…or not!
I purchased Watters fall 2012 ‘ALEXANDRA’ which looks like this on me:
As you can see, the waistband on the gown is HUGE. One of the things I wanted to do originally was to wear a pretty sash with whichever dress I chose. Choosing this dress makes it harder to do a sash. I’m not wearing the flower that is featured in the picture here; i decided against it.
Anyways, i found a beautiful 2″ sash at J. crew that I love, and the ribbon matches perfectly with the ivory of my gown, so it’ll blend nicely.
My question for all of you is: can I pull off wearing a sash with this dress, and have any of you been faced with this?
Here’s the sash.

I think a bridal belt would look better with this style of gown! There are so many amazing styles and colors to choose from too! Here are some from etsy

I would try it on with the sash. Personally I have trouble envisioning it.

Oh first of all, your dress is really amazing! I do love the flower, but being that you opted to not have the flower, I think you could totally wear a sash or belt. It has a good defined waist (the gown) so I think you could definitely wear one.

I think you should try to stick with a fabric that is similar to your beautiful dress if you want to do a sash… maybe a sash with organza flowers. Either way, you have to try it with the sash in order to get a feel for how it will look. Since you are trying on your dress soon, I suggest you ask your salon to put a sash on you… this way.. you can see how you like it.. and head to etsy to get a much cheaper one!
