@Ashley_P:  I can understand where you’re coming from here.  BUT, if it were me wearing that $400 dress, no matter what has happened in the past, I’d ruin it in some way.  It’s just inevitable!

@everyonelovespandas:  I would worry about two things: 1) something might happen to the dress and you can’t replace it because the style has been discontinued; and 2) the bride would probably be pissed if she saw a picture of you wearing the dress to another wedding before her own (why incur unnecessary wrath?)  You might plan to be careful but drunk, gropey Uncle Bob may not be as careful with his drink.

If there are six weddings, can’t you just use another dress you plan to wear to another wedding as a guest?  Or are you a Bridesmaid or Best Man in all of them?  If so, dang that is a lot of money to shell out on Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses in one year!

just be aware of your surroundings when you wear the dress. the dress is yours. Don’t bother telling her about wearing it, because it is none of her bis.

Ahh this is hard. I mean yes, you paid for it (and quite a lot for it, yikes), it’s YOURS, so in essence you should rock it if you want to…

…but I wouldn’t ever be able to. I’d be so worried about something bad happening to it, beyond just a regular stain that could be taken out at the drycleaners. It just feels weird to me to wear a Bridesmaid or Best Man dress before the wedding, and I’d be afraid it would take some of the wind out of the day’s sails (er, so to speak.) But that’s just me!!

Unless the bride paid for the dress then she has no say what so ever. If she asks/complains I would say that since the dress was so expensive it meant that you could not afford to by another dress to wear to your other weddings.

@mrsSonthebeach:  “Personally, I wouldn’t wear it. You bought the dress for a specific purpose and  should wait for that purpose to be fulfilled before you reuse the dress.
