I picked up this vintage dress today for a wedding I am attending this weekend. I thought it was a light pink when I bought it, but when I got it home it is more of a chamagne color. It got me thinking if it was okay to wear or not….

I wouldn’t but I’m also upset my mom is wearing a light champagne dress to my wedding – people tell me I’m overreacting though!

Depends on the bride. I wouldn’t wear that, especially because it is so lacy.

I wouldn’t because of the color and the lace, but also because it looks pretty short, too!

As a bride, I would not appreciate it if a guest wore that dress to the wedding.
I would not because the color really is very light.

I wouldn’t be mad if it was my wedding, but I’m pretty laid back and I know plenty of girls that would be plenty pissed. So to be safe, I’d probably pick something else.

Personally, I wouldn’t wear it– but if you’re really concerned, I’d ask the bride for her opinion– you don’t have to say you think it’s too close to white or anything; I would jsut e-mail her a picture of you in the dress and asdk her if this is the right style/ formailty for their wedding. If she’s uncomfortable with it for any reason, she’ll tell you.

It looks very bridal to me, I wouldn’t wear that to a wedding.

No… I feel like if you have to ask then you have your answer.

I would wear it. It’s very clearly not bridal at all.

White – Ivory – Cream – Champagne – and in some instances Silver & Gold are off limits. As is anything lacey.
There is a RAINBOW of other colours… go choose one of those.

PS… The “colour” issue is mostly because they may be shades that the Bride has chosen for herself to wear, but ALSO because when photographed one’s eye naturally is pulled towards white. Which for a Wedding, is what your eye wants to do… find and focus on the B&G. BUT when someone else wheres a similar colour, then the eye is confused / unfocussed. And it detracts from any pictures where the B&G and other people appear together.
Hope this helps,
