I am attending a wedding in July and I have two really nice dresses that I had in mind. However I am also wondering if I should go shopping for a more dressier one or accessorise the ones that i have. It will not be a black tie event. It will be ina church. However regardless I do want to look my best. Bear in mind I am also 5’9 and want to feel comfortable. I want ideas on how to accessorize them to look elegant and sexy:) I am worried that the printed one would be too short. I am also in my mid twenties so what do you think would work for me?
I really need your feedback:
this is not me but I am about the same size
this is an eggplant color dress without the embellishment.

I personally am not the biggest fan of dress #1.. I think you’d look very elegant in dress #2 🙂

@kmsw: Thank you! I think so too. How do you think I can make it look more dressy?

I would say that dress #1 is busy and bright – maybe too much so for an evening wedding, but if it’s a day wedding, you might be able to pull it off. It doesn’t look too short to me (unless you go to a formal wedding, of course). I do love the eggplant colored dress and think that is heading in the right direction for wedding wear. 🙂
ETA: The eggplant dress would look awesome with some rope pearls (maybe black or silver pearls?). I think a longer strand of something would jazz it up!

Even tho I prefer the second dress, it IS long sleeved, and not something I’d probably wear in July. It looks more like a Fall/Winter dress.

I agree with the sleeves, though I guess sleeves can always be pushed up?

I don’t care for dress #1 as it’s pretty busy. However, I don’t care for dress #2 because of the long sleeves…
I think you should keep looking. Something not as heavy and alittle more fun than the 2nd dress, but not quite as fun as the 1st!

I think #1 is fun; I voted for this one. I do really like #2, but I think it may be too hot for July? As pp noted, looks like it’s a fall dress.
Both are exceptional choices, though 🙂

I like the eggplant one much better than the print – but won’t you being dying of heat in July in a longsleeve dress?

I think the first one is a little too casual and short for a wedding. The second dress is pretty but the long sleeves don’t really go with a July wedding. So my vote is neither.
