Tuttsy:  I would pick something else. Even if the bride doesn’t care you’ll probably get some side-eye from other guests.

Tuttsy:  That’s a lot of white.  I would ask your son FDIL what they think.

Tuttsy:  It’s a beautiful dress but I think it also may have too much white. That’s just my first opinion when I see it. Then again I had two guests wear all white to my wedding so this is nothing compared to that. Why don’t you ask your son for his opinion? If anyone says anything (which I doubt they would) you can say you had the groom’s approval.

How is your relationship with FDIL? It looks a bit white to me. Might be best to check with her?

When in doubt, don’t wear it out… or at least that’s the saying I use lol

Does this dress come in a different color combo?  It’s beautiful, but I won’t wear it for the wedding just to not upset the bride.

I like it. I understand the whole “don’t wear white to a wedding” but I interpret that more as “don’t wear a dress that could mean you’ll be confused with the bride”. Therefore, for me white sundresses or dresses that are white with huge splashes of color are fine. As long as there is nothing particularly bridal about the dress I don’t really get the big deal. That said, I think I’m strongly in the minority for this viewpoint, so you can always ask your son to check with your FDIL before buying it though, just to be safe 🙂

It’s a full length white dress. It would bother me as a bride.
