My Future Sister-In-Law is getting married in a month, and I bought this dress on super sale because I loved it, and then thought maybe it would be good to wear to her wedding. It has cream on the side, but I don’t think it looks bridal at all. I’m getting married next year, and it wouldn’t bother me a bit to see a guest in it at my wedding (my BMs may even wear champagne).
But I was wondering if that bit of cream might bother some brides? Or get me a lot of dirty looks lol. Please let me know what you think! I may just ask her, but we’re not super close so I feel a bit awkward asking.
Here’s a link to a photo of the dress: http://www.dillards.com/product/Max-and-Cleo-Briana-Ombre-OneShoulder-Dress_301_-1_301_503237671?cm_mmc=Linkshare-_-J84DHJLQkR4-_-null-_-null&linkshare=http://www.shopstyle.com/affiliate

Looks fine to me 🙂 Not bridal at all.

@paperbride: I think it’s fine- why don’t you just ask her? It might make you feel more comfortable with each other to reach out to her.

You could, but honestly there are 50188 million colors. Pick another one to wear to weddings ykwim?

I wouldn’t wear it, but my usual rule is if it’s 50% white(ish) or more, don’t wear it. Or if you have to ask, best be on the safe side and wear something else.

I like it & I would wear it. If anything, my eye is drawn more to the dark grayish color then the cream.

If you need to ask then no you shouldn’t wear it

I like it, but I would personally err on the side of caution and get something else.

Check with the bride is always my answer here. Some brides give no crap, some just don’t want it “bridal,” and some don’t want white/cream/ivory. Double check. I wouldn’t wear it since it has so much cream to it.

It’s absolutely fine. You aren’t supposed to be able to be mistaken for the bride. That’s the POINT behind the prohibition on white. There is NO WAY someone would think you were the bride in that dress.

I would never think twice about not wearing it. Its pretty and lots of gray/black. and short.

It is a very pretty dress. It doesn’t look bridal at all, but like other posters say… if YOU have to ask, maybe YOU think it has too much “white/cream” in it. Although the grey/black in it makes it a really cool dress…
