Peanut-Sue: That was what I was thinking too! I know for sure that the bride will absolutely be in white so I’m hoping that with the right accessories this will work.
It’s hard to find a nice but pretty long dress that’s not white, black (FI’s wearing a black suit), bright red. Or one that has giant cut outs or worse a crop top/skirt combo that just doesn’t seem wedding appropriate…Oh, and one that’s not like $400+ lol

The only thing is it looks a lot like a potential bridesmaids dress (maybe I’m only saying that because that was the colour of my bridesmaids) and as a rule you should always ask the bride what colour the maids are wearing so you don’t wear the same. Otherwise looks fab.

navzkore: I’ve never heard of that as a rule (but I live in Ohio so psshhhhh of course I wouldn’t know) but that would definitely be a polite & kind thing to do…especially if you’re concerned. That could be the end to the entire issue 🙂 good idea!

I’d ask the bridesmaids dress color or the bride what color her dress is, and just say you bought a nude/blushy dress and just don’t want to stand out on her day.. Assuming you know her well enough. I think its perfect, though

Sure. I think “blush is a popular wedding dress color nowadays” is a dumb excuse for saying it’s bridal-y. Eventually every color will be a wedding dress color.

Peanut-Sue: Doodle14: I found out about this rule about 2 years ago myself but it makes a lot of sense and when I got married I found a lot of people asking me so assuming it must be a popular rule.

navzkore: I actuallydid it for my husband’s brother’s wedding to be courteous…and then the new wife did it to me & wore the exact same color so she could match her husband! I couldn’t believe it! But I could go on for days about how horrible of a person she is lol.
Thank you for teaching me that it’s a rule. I’ll definitely do it from now on 🙂
