It sounds like early labor pains, I had those with my first child. I went to the er and they had to give me a medication to stop them or it would have progressed into “true” labor. I was earlier than 36 weeks though. After that day I was put on bed rest and I ended up being 1.5 weeks late! Good luck, I hope everything is okay!

Obviously talk to your provider but it sounds like Braxton Hicks. True labor would get stronger and closer, not stop.

Definitely talk to your midwife. Does the pain go away with heat, taking a bath, or drinking water?

I went into a very short labor and delivered at 36 weeks. That doesn’t sound like contractions. The shooting pain comes from your cervix as its dilating. Then right before birth its like your whole belly is contracting very strong and long, your body is helping you push.

It sound like your baby is moving around (perhaps getting into position) sometimes putting pressure on your back or diaphragm making it harder to breath.

All the best!

Could it be prodromal labour?

I hope you are doing well!

I went into labor at 33 weeks with my oldest son and 35 weeks with my youngest. My youngest I didn’t think it was labor because it felt like really bad (sorry TMI) poop pains. I just felt that horrible “bathroom cramping” I’m lucky I went in because my son was born less than 2 hours later. Labor pains are different for everyone. But, I’d suggest getting it looked at. Both my kids were healthy being born early. I know it’s scary 🙁 good luck bee

It will be OK if baby comes at 37 weeks or later. 37 is technically term! Heck, even if you deliver at 36 weeks everything would be just fine. My mom never went past 37 weeks..my brother was born at 37, I was born at 36, and my sister was born at 35 and a couple days. We are all perfectly healthy and were when we were born.

Im currently pregnant with baby number 1 and have accepted the fact that it’s highly unlikely that I will make it past 38 weeks and that’s if I’m lucky. None of the women on my mom’s side have ever gone past 38 weeks.
