You may recall me…I’m the two dress bride who bought two wedding dresses because I couldn’t find the one perfect dress anywhere and I didn’t have the imagination to have one made from scratch. So my plan was to wear my more traditional romantic, “classier” pronovias one for the main event and then change into a slinky ruffled sparkly mori lee one for the evening reception, as both dresses I bought were ex samples so didn’t cost me much. It has however always niggled me that I feel the need to get changed as I haven’t one dress that gives me every “look” I wanted on the day. Also worried that people will assume I’ve paid full price for two dresses and think I’m vain 🙁
Well, now I’ve been to a wedding fair 10 weeks before my wedding and made the mistake of watching the catwalk, with all of 2014’s collections on display….And there it was….my dream dress. A new mori lee style, not available to order from stockists until January….my wedding is in December!!
I have contacted all stockists of Mori Lee in the UK and even tried to contact them directly. They cannot get the dress to me before February. So I started googling dressmakers and found Jasmine’s it seems to be by far the best in China. However, although I am willing to pay the full amount of the original dress (i.e I’m not using Jasmine’s to avoid paying the full amount, purely because I can’t get the original in time), I’m concerned that they can’t guarantee delivery before my wedding date. Ideally I’d want the designer craftmanship but this extends production by 4 weeks.
Here is a pic of the dress: SIGH. And a bad side on pic of me in it (without a hoop and in the wrong colour- but in my size! Alas the wedding fair wouldn’t let me buy it even though I was so desparate I could have coped with being a champagne coloured bride at that point just to get this dress!
In your expert bees opinion, will Jasmine’s be able to replicate this only at premium craftmanship but with the designer material? Ideally I want the designer craftmanship but this will mean the dress won’t arrive in time no matter how much I pay for a rush order.
Here is the pics of the dress. As you can see the bodice is so heavily jewelled and I’m concerned I won’t get any mid production pics and I’m very specific about things such as it not being too high or low waisted, I don’t want the seam from the skirt to the bodice on show I want it fully covered by the lace overlay and I want the appearance of the dress as an all in one piece and not the “pumpkin” top and skirt look that some dresses have.
Basically girls, can Jasmine do it??? I’ve submitted an order form and Kimmie has been so so helpful. I’m also however worried that there will be an issue with delivery here to the UK
Any advice or opinions appreciated!!!

I don’t think so. For reference, I ordered mine in the first days of July, it’s now 3 months and my dress is not ready for shipment. I have raised no questions with them and approved all pictures without changes. I think 3/4 months is about the time they are taking to produce the dresses. I’ve seen dresses on the Jasmine’s boards that have taken 6 months after revisions from the bride. If you think you’ll be raising queries it seems pretty unlikely they will be able to deliver for Christmas.
Having said all this, my consultant is Chelsea, who’s significantly slower in her replies than Kimmie…
Also, I think if you are dead set on specific details of the dress going down the replica road might not be for you…

@RMH4185: I voted yes they can if you have no revisions but you need to efficiently communicate from the very beginning. Your best bet is to talk to a consultant and see. The beading may take a while, if anything were to hold you back it would be that.

@RMH4185: I also voted no though I believe it really depends on the length of time between communication with you and JBS, how many ‘rush’ orders there are, how many revisions you request and how long it takes for your payment to be processed.
I didn’t expect perfection or an exact copy of the original but I have still had 4 sets of revisions done and am still waiting for confirmation of the last revision. I placed my order May 16th and am now into week 20! The communication can sometimes take a week for replies…..frustrating. Especially when it seems ‘rush orders’ are placed priority time and time again, even though I have been waiting quite patiently and the original ’13 weeks for completion’ have now well and truly passed for my order.

No they cant, dont even try. three months with no revisions for a simple veil and its yet to come and to top it they can get really unfriendly after you’ve made your payment.
I wouldnt risk it at all, but its up to you. they are they only vendors that Ive had a bad experience with, and its strange because of all the good reviews I read its turned out to be a nightmare.

Ok bees….thank you for all your replies and honest opinions!!! The only problem is…I ordered it the same night I posted this poll…..was too nervous about waiting any longer. I think you may be right about them getting quite abrupt once they’ve taken payment as they’ve already gone back and told me I owe more money despite them not picking up that I’d requested an extension on the train at the point of order, and when I queried this they just said I need to pay it and production has stopped on my dress until I do. Which wasn’t really the issue as they hadn’t told me how much more I needed to pay…..I’m also now going to be hit with another western union charge for the sake of about thirty dollars which is super annoying.
Atleast they’ve started production though so I can only wait and see. I’m too miserable about my original dress now to not risk this last resort.
I will keep you posted on my progress anyway and I hope you do get your veil sorted!!!!

@chopsuey: Sorry that you have had a bad experience with us. Possibly try contacting your consultant for an update on your veil.
