(Closed) Can milgrain edging be added after the fact (10kt gold)?

When they make a milgrain edge, they make the edge of the ring raised a little bit–it kind of looks like ^—^   Then they run a thing that looks like a teensy pizza cutter over the pointy bits and it leaves the milgrain behind.  If there is no extra metal there, there really isn’t anything to form the bumps.  Those round edges may work but it also may look terrible.  I’d ask a professional jeweler.
