Just curious, the dress is really pretty, it just happens to be strapless, she could wear a shawl for ceremony but would probably want to take it off during reception.
Do you think it’s acceptable for an older lady to get away with. She’s about 50 and looks just fine.

if she can wear it, she should rock it! my mom ordered a strapless dress and had really thin straps added – mostly because her boobs are huge haha…but she wore a little shaw for the ceremony and took it off for the reception.

Lol we were thinking straps but not sure if we can alter it with the correct fabric swatch… thanks though good to know there are other women sporting strapless!

My Mother-In-Law in law wore a strapless dress to my wedding. She wore a shall to the ceremony. While she is thin and it’s didn’t really look bad I did feel that it wasn’t very age appropriate (she is 60)

If she feels good in it and it compliments her body/figure, then go for it!! =) More power to her!

Yeah, if she feels great in it, of course! Hot mama! 🙂

I did after I had the spaghetti straps removed. Mine had a short jacket I left on for the ceremony, but it was quickly removed once we started to dance.
As long as she has some support inside the dress and she’s comfortable wearing it, why not?

To me, I don’t think it’s more the straps vs. strapless isssue but whether or not the dress itself is appropriate as a whole. It could have straps and be way too tight or low cut and so the silhouette would be inappropriate.
Your mama should wear whatever makes her feel beautiful and comfortable!

Awesome, Im happy now we don’t have to search high and low for a coverup! Sweet. But a shawl for the ceremony is a must though. Rock on.
