I don’t think its weird at all.. a Maid/Matron of Honor should be that special person that you share a bond with, who would want the responsibility… I say go for it! (btw, my friend just had her aunt as her matron of honor)

I think you can ask anyone you’d like to be your Maid/Matron of Honor. πŸ™‚ I’ve heard of brides askign mothers to be their Maid/Matron of Honor, and there are even people who are having Men of Honor! So in short, it’s your wedding, have it your way. If your aunt is the person you want most standing beside you on your wedding day, then by all means ask her.

It won’t be weird since you’re having a bridal party. My cousin married a girl who had her mom as her Maid/Matron of Honor, and no bridal party. She literally didn’t have any friends in her life, it was really weird. It’s cool that you’re so close to your aunt.

My aunt (by marriage) is my MOH! She’s only eight years older than me and she’s totally awesome. I say go for it!

@Macchiato: I say go for it. My aunt is a Bridesmaid or Best Man in my wedding and like yours, she has been a big sister to me.

you get to pick whoever you want πŸ™‚ if you want your aunt have her πŸ˜€

I was undecided between my 2 best friends until someone told me it’s MY wedding and I should get whatever I want that day.. i was like duh.. πŸ˜€ choose what makes u happy, 2 maids of honor made me happy because I would’ve felt too guilty picking either one of them and leaving the other one out

Of course she can be. πŸ™‚ I hope my sister is my future daughter’s Maid/Matron of Honor. I would looooove that. My sister is 14 years younger than I am, and therefore too young to be my Maid/Matron of Honor – she’s 8, lol. I think it would be really sweet. πŸ™‚

I asked my aunt (and Godmother) to be my Maid/Matron of Honor.  Since we decided that it would probably make my mom really jealous, I made her my Secret Maid/Matron of Honor.  πŸ™‚
