Okay bees – I’m in major panic mode!
So, I bought the most gorgeous Demetrios dress back in February, and have lost about 25lbs since then.
When buying it, I specifically told the saleslady that I was losing weight, and to order a size down. She insisted that it’s very easy to alter the dress, and that I better be safe than sorry in case I don’t lose the weight which is apparently what always happens..
So, they ordered a size 20 (42-37-47) and called me to come try the dress on once it arrived last week.
DISASTER. It’s way too big even with the corset back laced all the way up. I have my alterations appointment in August but am so scared that the dress won’t be alterable. There’s SO much beading and I’m worried that it will be a problem. I’m still losing weight but don’t know how much I can lose.
The salesladies tried to alleviate my concerns, but I don’t know if they really know what they are talking about..I need to contact that alterations specialist to see what can be done, but has anyone had such a drastic alteration need on a beaded dress? How did it turn out?
