So my fiance has one more groomsman than I have bridesmaid. Okay, okay, he has two groomsmen and I have a maid of honor. I have three sisters, but I feel like I can’t just pick one sister. Would it be cheesy or weird if I ask my mom to be my matron of honor?? Are there things I should be considering that I’m not thinking about? What do you ladies think??

it is unusual, but who cares? it is a really sweet gesture and i’m sure your mom would be touched!

Lots of men have their dads as best men, so I totally don’t see why not!!! Go for it! I’m sure she’d be really honored.

My mom would be a hot mess on the floor… We’ve already discussed that I will not make eye contact with her before the cermony or during. lol I don’t want her to make me cry!!
If your mom is good with it, I say do it!! 🙂

Absolutely! I went to a wedding where the mother was the matron of honor and there was nothing unusual about it at all. It’s a lovely gesture.

Haha, I had the same thought yesterday! I think you should do it. Why not?

Thanks ladies. My fiance is saying “I told you so” but I just needed some reinforcement from objective opinions. Thanks!!

It’s a great idea! I wanted to do this as well, but my mom thought she wouldn’t be able to keep it together enough to stand up there with me. She was really happy to be asked though.

I think that’s awesome you’re considering having your mom stand up with me…I have two sisters and couldn’t decide who to make my Maid/Matron of Honor, so I made them co-mohs. lol
