Progesterone is given to support your lining, once progesterone levels drop, that is when one typically has their period.  I believe continuing should delay your next cycle from starting, which I dont think would make you O any earlier… but you should probably confirm with your doctor.  I bled through my progresterone and started my cycle even though I was on it, but it was also after IVF cycle, so it’s likely my crashing estrogen levels and everythign had to do with that too.

my cycles always started 3 days after stopping progesterone for my IUI and IVF cycles whether it was 14dpo or 18dpo. (depending when my beta was scheduled)

I believe it does.  I am on them now and was told if the beta was negative to stay on them because they want to do an endometrial scratch if I get a BFN, and they cannot do that if I have my period.  The progesterone will keep me from getting it so they will be able to preform it.
