I’m sorry your Fiance is having trouble! What is his degree in, if you don’t mind my asking (maybe we could help by providing alternative avenues he maybe hasn’t considered)? If anything, I hope something comes along soon!

@missbumblebee:  Bah! I was just reading a study the other day about how competitive this market can be and how unstable a position is in the field because of th high turnover rates. Therefore, I have no advice but I do have empathy!

Where are you guys located?  Maybe you need to move to an area that has more of a demand for accounting?  Where I live, accounting jobs don’t seem too hard to come by (I know a number of recent grads who have found jobs at accounting firms, and the accounting firm I have a tempporary job at (I have nothing to do with accounting) has hired some people lately).

Edit-none of the people I know have taken/passed the CPA exam yet.

check govt agencies,they are usually hired off civil service tests. I work for my county and we have 2 different accounting departments and very stable jobs.
