I’m turning to you ‘experts’ here to see if someone can make sense of my cycle as of late…
First of all, I used to get EWCM around the time of ovulation by the bucket load. Of course as soon as we start ttc #2 my cycle goes all wonky…..aah!
We started ttc #2 last cycle – I had watery CM around the halfway point of my cycle and figured I was ovulating, but those days came and went with no EWCM. 2ww went by with a BFN. Then all of a sudden around day 26 – bam! I got EWCM so I thought maybe I was ovulating super late or a 2nd time and regained hope for this cycle – but then I got AF a day later.
Now same thing is happening this cycle – I got watery CM around the halfway point, a positive OPK, but no EWCM, and now I’m starting to show the dry white CM after ovulation. Still no EWCM – what the heck is going on?
Also I’m 38 so I’m worried the biological gods might be starting to shake thier head at me… :/

Watery CM is fertile, too. And I tend to get a bit of EWCM right before AF as the progesterone falls off and estrogen dominates. It’s normal. I’m 37 and I don’t have as much EWCM as I did when I was TTC #1. I get a half day of some EWCM around ovulation, and otherwise it’s watery. But we did manage to conceive #2 like that, and we didn’t even use any Pre-Seed this time. It could be age, it could be changes in your hormones afer having a kid, but I don’t think your new normal is anything to be concerned about. Relax and TTC with wild abandon! I hope you get your BFP soon.

watery is also fertile cervical mucus. Not everyone gets a lot of EWCM. If you got a positive OPK and watery CM I would assume you ovulate within 12-48 hours of the + OPK.
You can also get increased cervical mucus periodically during the TWW, I though thought it was just a rise in estrogen.
I’m sure lack of CM could be caused by other issues like maybe you didn’t drink enough water- I think being dehydrated could decrease CM.
I really wouldn’t worry yet. CM isn’t always effective for pinpointing ovulation. It isn’t for me anyway. I am lucky to get one or two days of watery CM it seems and nothing else. I’m 31. I’ve had a few cycles with a patch or two of EWCM but it isn’t very often.

Oh that’s great to hear, thanks!

Yeah I wouldn’t be too concerned that you’re not getting ewcm as long as you’re getting a. Few days of watery cm and positive OpK.
