If it fits and you like it and the price is right, does it matter if it’s authentic?

@Amaryllis: Ahh. So the price is good for an amsale, not just good in general, I take it. ๐Ÿ™‚

You may want to PM meliss. She seems like she knows designer dresses pretty well.

I second Meliss.  That girl knows dresses like an employee! ๐Ÿ™‚

Are you comfortable posting it on here?

LOL!!! Are you girls making fun of me? Yell

I’d love to help out but I only know dresses from obsessing on them from behind a computer screen. I’ve never tried on an Amsale dress.

I can’t think of anyway but asking for closeup shots and comparing it to pics of the actual dress and play “find the differences game”. Even then, it may be hard to tell the fabric over pictures. And if it’s close enough to fool you…Hate to say it but it’ll probably be close enough to fool the bride who buys it from you too.

@meliss: No no, not making fun at all! You just know a lot about designer dresses!

@Linz1231: I hate to admit I know 2010 wedding dresses better than I know my job. Plus they’re a lot more interesting. Maybe I need to make a career of it. I met a wedding salon owner who retired early from the financial services sector after working with some of the higher ups in my company, it did cross my mind after talking to her. But I would want to wear the dresses instead of selling them!

@Amaryllis: Haha, well you already have me beat at dresses purchased and you’re still going on strong ๐Ÿ™‚ I do hope you find a way to wear your lace dress though, whether it’s by putting in a corset back or something else. It’s so beautiful!

@Amaryllis: how much detail does amsale put in her dresses? when i looked at the tag, i automatically noticed that the fabric is cut crookedly (on the right side beside the stitching). is that common? Lots of designer fakes nowadays sew tags on, replicate authenticity cards, etc. There’s a large number of fake bcbg dresses on ebay, for example, with tags included.

a quick search turned up this amsale dress with a tag picture. The tag looks a bit neater in this pic. These are just my thoughts, let us know what you end up deciding! ๐Ÿ™‚
