I know this may sound like a stupid question, but I don’t understand. How can one be sure it is an anovulatory cycle vs a very long cycle? If it is just a really long cycle that shows ovulation, then it would not be anovulatory, right? Does an anovulatory cycle always end in bleeding or can it end in spotting? I am just SO confused on this. I do not believe I am experiencing an anovulatory cycle, but wondering if I did previously so I just wanted to know if someone can explain this to me.
Here’s why I’m wondering: I miscarried late November and haven’t gotten a period since. I stopped bleeding in mid-December from the mc. 26 days after mc bleeding stopped and HCG went to 0, I started spotting and had my last day of spotting about 3 weeks ago. This spotting had lasted for 2 weeks and was light brown a couple of times a day. Was this the end of an anovulatory cycle or was this just midcycle spotting? Just curious as to if I am still on the “same” cycle or if this is my second cycle since the mc. And yes, I did ovulate 8 days ago (yay finally!).
Thanks for your help! I’m just curious as to what has happened with others’ anovulatory cycles. I apologize if my story is confusing.
