My cousin did this (it was a Catholic wedding and the homily/sermon thing was about an hour long), and no one seemed to mind. 🙂

I have only seen it done when one or both have a disability. It might seem strange to some guests, but I am sure they won’t mind. If you are having a program and decide to do this, you might mention that because of your nerves you chose to have you both sitting.

I’ve seen it done during religous ceremonies where the service was very long. It would probably be hard for your guests to see you if you were sitting. Also, I don’t know about your ceremony but we there seemded to be movement in ours, where we got close and farther apart from eachother, like when we had to feed each other wine. That wouldn’t work sitting.

I have seen it done that way before! They just had a chair on either side of the minister while he gave the sermon – they sat. However, my friend sat on and ripped a hole in her veil. Someone had to finally help her sit. Just be careful!

How long is your ceremony? Many ceremonies are only 15-20 minutes long, and it might seem like a jack-in-the-box if you sit and stand.

But, for a longer ceremony, I think it would be totally okay!

I don’t think it would be strange. I have seen it done in longer ceremonies too. Do whatever you feel confortable doing, it’s your wedding!

Catholic brides and grooms always sit! Look at pictures of those weddings if you’re curious. Course those would be inside…but I don’t think it looks weird at all!
