So I booked the most perfect venue, got the dress, picked out my photog and makeup artist. Everything has been so easy, I was waiting for something tough to come along! And here it is…
The area we have to put our cake in has a bright orange wall behind it. It’s not too bad, since orange is in our color scheme. I’m just worried that it might be too much orange, and that it might effect the pictures or even reflect off the three-tiered ivory cake. What do you think? Would this look ok as-is? Should I try to put somthing behind it to dull the bright colors down? Any tips on decorating a cake table like this?
PS – we have decided to use the cool antique italian side table that is pictured here as our cake table.

Oh, and our only other cake area option would be outside…kind of a last resort! But it’s still an option I guess.

Are you using a professional photographer? If so, he or she should be able to use the proper lighting to get a good shot of your cake.
The ivory cake should show well on the orange background, especially if you have any orange, rust or brown accents on the cake.
This is a pair of shoes but see how they pop

wow – that looks great! I do have rust and brown accents in my theme…this could work!

I think it looks good as is…especially since orange is in your colour scheme.

I love the orange wall. You can totally work with it.

i love the orange wall too! could you maybe hang a ‘curtain’ of crystals or something up on the wall to break it up a little? i dont mean like a full on curtain of crystals that has a million strands on it..just like a curtain where each strand is about 6-10 inches apart. your call, but I love the wall!

a white cake will really pop against that wall. it will look great! i wouldn’t hang anything — it would just take away from the cake.

I love this.. I don’t think the orange is too overwhelming at all. If you go with a white or ivory cake it will really stand out!
I’d stay away from using too many orange accents on it though, they might blend in.

Your photog would probably photograph the cake with the wall behind the cake (like how the shoes are placed) to avoid any overwhelming orange reflection on the cake. I’d just plan to arrange your cake/accessories to make that optimal.
