I know! All I did that far along was sleep and throw up!

misswhereami :  I saw this and omg, agreed! All I could manage to do at 8 weeks was sleep on the couch…I had a heroic battle just raking some leaves in our tiny yard at 6 weeks that left me debilitated for 2 days.

Congrats on your pregnancy!

Yes! Not that I wasn’t already impressed by her and her accomplishments but this just takes the cake. I’m so happy for her too. I can only imagine the sacrifices professional tennis players make in their personal lives so to see her happily engaged and pregnant while still kick butt on the court brings me joy.

YES!!! And she did not drop a single set in that win!

There is no question in my mind she is the Greatest Athlete Of All Time. Anyone who wants to claim otherwise, let me ask– who else has won a major title while pregnant?

I think it is super impressive! I also read a comment somewhere else that winning major tennis touranments is her job and we all still go to work when pregnant. Makes sense. But I still think she (and all other pg women) are amazing!  (As I sit in front of my work computer eating Doritos and reading the Bee while 5 months pregnant, before I actually get some work done).

Yesterday I took the garbage out and I felt like a hero.  Seriously, I wanted to take a picture and send it to my husband to commerate this. I am 10w4d.

I actually think Serena is the gold standard for any athlete period after this.

I wonder if Venus knew Serena was pregnant when she beat her at the Australian Open final….

Yes I was just talking to DH about this! I said “she must not have had any morning sickness” and he answered “or she just powered through it!” I cannot even imagine “powering through morning sickness” to take a short walk let alone win the Australian Open. She is amazing.

I didn’t have morning sickness, but even still, I was so tired I could barely get out of bed to go to work (and sit behind my desk for 8 hours). She really is amazing!

Amen sisters! She won a grand slam at 8 weeks and I could barely drag myself out of bed and felt nauseous all day! I did read an article today that said that her being pregnant may have actually helped her chances of winning due to the increase in blood flow and therefore energy. It also said that pregnancy can improve athletic performance and agility for those women who are already very active. That must be my problem! Nearly 18 weeks now and still get really tired easily!
