  • Wedding: April 2019

OOOOO This is fun!! I’m really enjoying reading everyone’s answers!

Wedding Date: April 2019

Engagement Length:  1 year & 6 months (it’s gone by SO FAST!)

Colors: Charcoal navy, gold, blush, charcoal gray

Theme: Touch of Disney

Wedding Party(#s): Five bridesmaids, some from my childhood and some newer friends that I’ve grown close to. Four groomsmen all my fiancé’s friends growing up.

Ceremony (where, time): Small but beautiful chapel on my reception venue’s property. 5pm

Reception (where, time): Stunning venue that was built right before we got engaged. Has a perfect royal but not over-the-top vibe that I was looking for

Dress Style: Ivory A-line with deep V-neck and embroidered lace applique. Rita Vinieris’s Alyne Fall 2018 collection. It was the 4th dress I tried on at Kleinfeld at my very first dress appointment.

Bridesmaid’s Dresses: Various Azazie dresses in blushing pink

Hair/Makeup (Pro/DYI): Both pro and I will be providing all my ladies with those services as well.

Honeymoon Location: Disney World

Flowers: loose bouquets for me of blushes, berries and whites. The rest of the florals are mostly white.

First Dance Song: “So This is Love” (Cincerella’s song when she dances with the prince for the first time)

Centerpieces: Alternating between gold candelabras with small floral arrangements around it (to give that Beauty and the Beast vibe), and a low round floral centerpiece in a gold bowl

Food/Menu: Cocktail hour with hot and cold stations, 3 course sit-down dinner (typical red meat, chicken, fish, or vegetarian options), full open bar througout cocktail hour and reception

Cake Flavour: 3 teirs, haven’t really decided on flavor but strawberry shortcake is in the lead lol, no fondant (ick).

Favours: Large blush vanilla flavored macarons in the shape of Mickey Mouse’s head

DJ/Band/Ipod: DJ (I found one that hates both Bruce Sprinsteen and Bon Jovi like I do. lol)

Bachelorette (when/what): I’m not allowed to know but I’d really like to go to Charleston, SC for a weekend.

  • Wedding: January 2019

Wedding Date: 1/22/2019

Engagement Length:  It will be just over 23 months. This is way too long, but we wanted to give people a chance to save up for plane tickets.

Colors: Royal blue, Dark leafy green, Some bright yellow and white

Theme: I’ve been asking everyone to dress colorfully if they’re able. That’s as close to a theme as we’ve got.

Wedding Party(#s): I have my sister as my Maid/Matron of Honor, and no bridesmaids. Fiance seems to want a best man because of that, but hasn’t asked anyone.

Ceremony (where, time): Costa Rica! We’ll take all of our guests down to the beach (Pacific Ocean side) and hopefully do a ceremony just before or during sunset.

Reception (where, time): We rented a large villa for all of our guests to stay in. The reception will take place at the villa.

Dress Style: Hayley Paige Chandon. A gorgeous sparkely tulle masterpiece!

Bridesmaid’s Dresses: I let her pick whatever she’d be comfortable in. She found a gorgeous knee-length royal blue dress with a similar shape in front to my dress. She will be much cooler and much more comfortable in the tropical heat. Lol

Hair/Makeup (Pro/DYI): My future Sis-in-law offered to do my hair, since she is a stylist by trade. But she and her husband are some of the last ones to confirm that they’ll actually be going to the wedding, so it may end up DIY.

Makeup is DIY, by my friend. She bought an airbrush setup for her own wedding, and is going to bring it to use on me!

Honeymoon Location: Traveling to a few other locations in Costa Rica for a week and a half.

Flowers: I’m hoping I can find some beautiful tropical flowers when I arrive there. It’s been difficult to find any florists with websites in the area of the wedding. As a backup I bought and will be bringing a silk flower bouquet with white/blue orchids, green and yellow roses, and blue lilies.

First Dance Song: I don’t think my fiance wants to do a first dance. Kind of a bummer, but we’re not doing a traditional reception so maybe I’ll just steal him away for a private dance at some point.

Centerpieces: I’m not bringing any decorations with me.

Food/Menu: Probably traditional Costa Rican food. I am not setting up a menu beforehand, but will be hiring a local chef to come and cook lunch and dinner on the wedding day. I hope some grilled fish and lots of fresh fruit will be on the menu!

Favours: I am currently trying to find some customizable Christmas tree ornaments. Anyone have a recommendation? I don’t want to add to what everyone has to pack, so something small like that is my plan.

DJ/Band/Ipod: iPod. Also trying to find a linkable system of bluetooth speakers if anyone has any recommendations! I’d like to bring a few speakers to spread around the community areas at the villa for the reception and have them synced up with the same music playing.

Bachelorette (when/what): I’m a little jaded against bachelorette parties. I’ll go, but they’re not my favorite. So my sister (Maid of honor) is taking me for a weekend away, just us two. I have no idea what she has planned.

Ceremony (where, time): Early in the day, in the countryside, in a beautiful hilly/mountainous area, outside by a lake. (Fingers crossed for the weather!)

First Dance Song:N/A
