I think it depends on the person – meaning, everyone has different hair coarseness.

Waxing pulls the hair out of the follicle and then it grows back – again, everyone grows back different.  I don’t think you are getting a cheap wax job and that’s why your hair is growing back the way it is.

I’ve never had a brazilian, but I do my bikini line and it always grows back, but it does feel smooth for several days (maybe a week or so).  Hair also grows back at different speeds – so, depending on the frequency of your waxes, you are feeling hair that’s almost grown past the skin line vs. the ones that were just pulled out.

Ive had 2 brazilians – I was completely smooth with both of them.

I’m always super smooth right after, but of course the hair will grow back.  However, the more you wax, the softer the hair is when it comes back.

I thought you were supposed to grow it for at least 3 wks?

I’ve been getting brazillian waxes for years and always feel smooth afterwards.  You really do have to let your hair grow out a little for the wax to be perfect.  My waxer suggests at least a quarter of an inch.

That’s not normal for a brazilian. Since your header says you’re in LA, I highly recommend going to Queen Bee Waxing in Culver City. They are amazing!

I go every 4 weeks.  I don’t shave or trim anything in between visits.  I think the hair is probably 1/4 inch.  I’d say I’m probably baby smooth for a week, after that is slowly starts growing back but the more you go the less hair actually grows back.

Is there a point where the hair is too long?

@.twist.:  no!  my waxer always says the longer hairs are easier to grasp and the area ends up smoother.

@becca.boo137:  I’m in LA as well and can give you lots of recommendations for a good waxer.  Where are you currently going?

I get that too, they always miss bits!

And the bumps! Ive had bumps for months, I wont get a wax again!

Wish there was some other way!

@Meowkers: Thanks! I worry about the perfect length, which silly enough is one reason I haven’t gone yet.

I’m totally smooth for about a week, but then there is some growth. My place recommends 1/4 inch growth, and to go every 6 weeks.
