Hi guys, I need some advice. I am a bling bride, but ended up getting a lace/tulle Lazaro. I was thinking of having a seamstress add some bling, however I am being advised it will take away from the dress. I have seen many lace dresses with embelishments. I put my dress up for sale after having doubts about it, and was going to buy another dress with more beading, but I really don’t want to sell it. 🙁 I need some advice, can a lace dress be blinged??? I know it depends on the type of beading too.

It probably can…but maybe just get some really blinged out jewelry to go with the dress instead.

a lace dress can definitely be blinged! the one that i ordered is a lace dress with all over bing. (i’m actually having doubts about my dress, but it’s NOT due to the fabric and the bling which i love, it’s due to the silhouette.).
i don’t believe that adding bling will take away from the dress as long as it’s done properly.
one way you can try is to lay your dress flat and sprinkle some sequins/beads on it to see if you like it.

I don’t know what your dress looks like, but I have a Justin Alexander 8137 gown and it has a lot of lace with sequins and pearls, and it is “the dress” for me. I think it is a matter of what your vision is. If you want it, then you should find a seamstress that is willing to do it for you. It would be a lot of work, so it will probably cost a lot. You could probably do it yourself, if you have the patience for it.

I found a lady who is the seamstress for a Mrs USA beauty pageant. She says she is an expert beader. So I am going to try her out. I don’t mind the extra cost. I think it will be better than buying a whole new dress. Itsa mermaid silouette. Here is a pic of me in the dress.
@TingTing. Thank you. I really need bling. Just having it on the jewelry is not cutting it for me. I feel naked. lol I wanted that hollywood glam look. I will try throwing some beads on it and see. I put a small deposit down on a super blinged out eve of milady ballgown sample dress. Just not quite sure about it because I love the way I look in this mermaid dress style.
@ noritake22 What kind of bling is that on your gown? I just looked and it is very pretty.

ok, so I found my answer. I found a site that hascustom bling lace dresses that look similar to mine. I am not sure if it is enough bling. I’m going to mull this one over.

The dress looks amazing on you! I love the shape. You can definitely bling it out. My dress is all lace but also has crystals on it. Mine is very subtle but I’m sure you can do something extravagant.

Thank you TingTing and Ariellebride. I found a designer online that has the look I am looking for. I guess they are based in Australia, but I found these pics on FB. I love the beading. So fab. Not sure the seamstress can make it look like this but I will sure try.

also chiming in here… i wanted a lace dress and wouldn’t really consider anything else, but all three “top contenders” had lace AND beading and sparklies. The one I ended up with was allover lace and a sparkly effect that, according to my oldest son, looked like “sunshine on fresh snow”. 🙂 I also added a sparkly brooch on a sash.
Oh and I wanted bling to match the dress on my plain lace bolero so I added white sequins myself, all over, with fabric glue. Took a while but looked great in the end.

@MsInterpret: Your dress looks so pretty!! It sparkels a lot on the back. May I ask what type/color of sequins you used? Is it flat or cup shape? Thanks In Advance,
