- Wedding: October 2010
Hi I am new to posting and now I have a question I want everyone to give their opinion on. Me and Mr. Wings are having a small ceremony in my hometown and due to half the guest list traveling in along with limits on guest list I am wondering if it is rude to ask people for an informal RSVP? We sent out our STD about a month ago and haven’t made our invites yet. We are getting married the end of October so I know this is very early but there are a few reasons for this. A) If say 10 people are planning on coming then there is a list of “second string” we would like to invite if the required family drops out and B) I have a pet peeve from attending alot of out of town weddings of brides providing local information to their traveling guests in thier welcome bag and if I had know about all the things to do in the local area I might have planned my vacation differently so I want to send this information to folks earlier rather than later.
So back to the orginal question… Is it rude to ask people for a tenative yes or no at this point in time? And if so how would you go about it?
