I’ve just managed to buy two antique solid silver napkin rings on eBay and I’m planning to give one to my husband as a birthday present. (I know it sounds like a dorky present, but it’s an old tradition in our family for new members to be given a napkin ring engraved with their initials.)
Now there’s one problem. They already have a monogramme on them, albeit very faint.
Is it possible to wipe out the old engraving and redo them with his initials?
I’m also dithering as to whether to engrave the other napkin ring with my initials (I already have a napkin ring) or hold on to it for any future family members…
Grateful for any advice anyone can give!
