I suppose I should just call them and ask, but it didn’t occur to me until just this second that I may have to order something. Has anyone bought off-the-rack bridesmaid dresses from David’s Bridal? I picked out a whole bunch online that I like, but I have less than 5 months until the bride’s big day.

You can definitely purchase something “off the rack” as long as they have it in your size/color. In fact, I think David’s Bridal encourages it.

You sure can, I’m assuming most locations will be the same, if you find something you like its the right size and color they’ll let you leave the store with it that day.

Yea, David’s will let you pretty much buy anything off the rack, but they don’t necessarily give you a discount. I ran into that situation with my flower girls dress. I wanted to buy it off the rack but it wasn’t going to be any cheaper than ordering it. If they have it in stock, you can order things online & get them in 5 days too. That’s what I ended up doing with the flower girls dress.

5 months is more than enough time to order a BM dress from David’s, but if you do want to buy off the rack you can. Just keep in mind that the rack dresses are samples and often a little (or a lot) beat up.

Yes, you can purchase them off the rack. But they don’t carry many of the sizes.. only a few in each color so it’s unlikely you’ll find all of your dresses in your color.
We just went 2 weeks ago to order our BM dresses from DB and they will be in on or before July. If you go within the next few weeks, you’ll have plenty of time to get them ordered and altered.

Yes, actually their process/policy is that if they have a dress off the rack, that is the dress they sell you and NOT at a discount. If they or another store don’t have it then it gets ordered.

anonybee0810: I’ve got a little bit of a different experience with David’s. It took almost 4 months for my BM’s dresses to come in; they were ordered in-store. One of them just arrived yesterday (ordered in January) and my wedding is the 28th. We are cutting it very close if this girl needs alterations. These were all in the same style, so it may have just been popular. But if you can get one off the rack, it might be a better option, especially if you’re expecting to need alterations.

anonybee0810: We ordered new ones from DB and they came in SO quickly depending on the style. Some dresses took 2 weeks and I think the most one took was a little over a month. I would just order a brand new one – like others said, the samples can be a bit beat up.
