From what I know, I’m going to agree with a PP- if you have faithfully taken the 21 hormone pills, you are covered for the 7 placebo days. Placebo pills are sugar pills, so I don’t take them- I just set a reminder in my phone to start the next pack a week later. Anyway, about starting a new package after being scared of becoming pregnant…I’m not a doctor or in the health field but based on a few screw ups in my past, I don’t think that taking a regular BC pill is enough to stop a pregnancy if you did happen to conceive. I think that the right thing would have been to take a Plan B pill IF you had not taken the three previous weeks properly (missing one, doubling up, etc). But really, if you took the entire three weeks of hormones without skipping, you would have likely been fine.
You may have messed up your cycle by starting another pack on a day that you weren’t supposed to. Especially if your body was expecting to have a period soon, or if you regularly start on a Sunday. That is likely why you still got your period. I would talk to a doctor to consult about the changes you’re putting your body through at the moment.
