    @Soontobemrs2012:  what would the schedule be?  Ceremony at 3:00 and then a gap for an hour and a half? 

    I would perhaps do black tie optional for the reception if there’s going to be a gap and I’d make the gap longer to give people time to change.  Just a thought.

    Tough.  The time and location of an event are “supposed” to dictate the atire required, and 3pm would not say black tie to… anyone.

    I don’t think so. The time of day dictates the dress and formal wear is not appropriate during the day. I would not ask guests to dress in black tie for a wedding thats essentially being held at lunchtime.
